Host your special event in the distinctive atmosphere of the Toledo Museum of Art. Our campus has hosted weddings, reunions, conferences, meetings, presentations, and many other kinds of celebrations and memorials.

TMA’s marble columned neoclassical Green Building, curved and transparent Glass Pavilion, exterior gardens and terraces, gorgeous galleries, and meeting rooms make for a unique and striking setting for any occasion of any size.

Galleries & Meeting Spaces

The Toledo Museum of Art campus offers a variety of gallery spaces, event spaces, and meeting rooms that can be reserved for your event.

In addition to these spaces, the East or West Wings of the Green Building, the Canaday Gallery, or the Glass Pavilion galleries can be made available to your guests for viewing.

Great Gallery

Surround yourself with the majesty of world-renowned works of art, polished parquet floors, and a grand column entry. Ideal for recitals, ceremonies, and presentations.

Libbey Court

An elegant entry hall with marble floors, soaring columns, and sky-lit ceiling. Ideal for a wide variety of events, from dancing and cocktail receptions to seated dinners.

Capacity: 200+ reception style; 100 seated dinner

Libbey Court and Gallery 1

This contemporary art gallery connects the Libbey and Classic Courts and is an ideal complement to either or both spaces.

Capacity: 100 reception style; 30 seated dinner

The Cloister

This medieval stone courtyard surrounded by colonnades is an intimate space ideal for ceremonies, recitals, presentations, and receptions.

Capacity: 100 reception style; 130 theater; 60 seated dinner; 150 ceremony

Green Room

A large room featuring an installation by sculptor Albert Paley, 30-foot sage green walls, and louvered windows. It can be customized to meet your needs with adjustable lighting, audiovisual capabilities, and a sound system.

Capacity: 200 reception style; 110 seated dinner

Red Room

Regally decorated in crimson with period furniture and shuttered windows. Ideal for intimate receptions, dining, and meetings.

Capacity: 30 reception style; 30 dinner

Little Theater

With auditorium seating, speaking area, stage, and AV capabilities, this space is ideal for presentations, films, and music recitals.

Capacity: 160 theater

GlasSalon

A luminous space in the Glass Pavilion that can accommodate your needs through adjustable lighting, AV capabilities, a sound system, and an adjacent warming kitchen. It can be reserved alone or in conjunction with the Crystal Corridor.

Crystal Corridor

Both ingress and main passage curving through the Glass Pavilion, this space features our Chihuly chandelier. It can be reserved alone or in conjunction with the GlasSalon.

Peristyle Lobby

Inspired by a Greek agora, the two-story Peristyle lobby features marble columns, cobblestone floors, and a painted Greek frieze. Ideal for receptions, dinners, and ceremonies.

Rental & Event Planning FAQs

Do I need to be a Museum member to rent space for my event?

No, anyone can rent space at TMA.

Do you offer discounts to members of AAA, the military, etc.?

We offer a discount only to TMA President's Council and Business Council members.

What are your rental prices?

The cost to rent gallery space at the Museum is based on a number of factors, including which space(s) is to be rented, on which day, during what time of day and time of year. Once we have preliminary information about your event and your needs, we can calculate the cost.

What’s included in the rental fee?

Gallery space, tables and chairs, setup and teardown, and security.

Do you charge for cake cutting service?

No, we perform that service free of cost.

How do I reserve space at the Museum?

Contact us to discuss your event. We’ll send you a contract, which you’ll sign and return along with a non-refundable deposit for half the cost of your event. The remainder of the cost will be due one week prior to the event date. The Museum accepts Visa, MasterCard and American Express.

Can I place a hold on a space/event at TMA?

Due to demand for rental space in the Museum, we cannot hold space without a set date and deposit payment.

How far in advance can I book my event?

Space is available on a first-come, first-served basis up to 12 months in advance.

At what time can I have my event?

Public galleries and spaces can be rented when the Museum is closed to the public. Meeting rooms and spaces can be rented at any time. See when all spaces are available at in our listing of Galleries & Meeting Spaces.

Can I stop by to check out the TMA spaces? Do I need an escort?

You are welcome to visit the Museum and Glass Pavilion public spaces any time during public hours. You do not need an appointment or an escort to preview locations for an event. It is a good idea to check with Special Events that the spaces you want to view are not reserved during the time of your visit.

Can I hold both my wedding and reception at the Museum?

You can schedule your ceremony, your reception, or both at the Main Museum and/or the Glass Pavilion. Rehearsal dinners can also be scheduled. Note: The Glass Pavilion is not conducive for ceremonies.

Can I hold my wedding outside? Is there a contingency plan for rain?

Ceremonies for up to 200 guests can be held outside depending on time of day and season, and would be moved to the Peristyle Lobby in the event of rain. If other gallery space is scheduled as a backup, an additional rental fee will apply.

What’s the parking situation at the Museum?

There is ample parking available to accommodate your guests, both behind the Main Museum and next to the Glass Pavilion.

Are there any restrictions in renting Museum space?

The following are prohibited in all galleries: red wine, glitter, confetti, birdseed, bubbles, balloons, open flames, candles, and live animals. Food and drink are prohibited in the Great Gallery.

What types of events cannot be held at the Museum?

Fundraisers for organizations other than TMA; proms; fraternity and sorority formals; auctions; and political, religious and promotional events will not be scheduled at the Museum. High school reunions are permitted.

What types of vendors can I choose myself?

Catering and bar services are provided exclusively by TMA. We also have a list of approved florists. You may choose your own DJ/band, photographer, and other providers. Please note that the Museum has final approval of all vendors.

Who is my contact for food and beverage?

Contact Amanda Scasny (x7600) or Maricarmen Westmark (x7604). The Museum does not offer a strictly Kosher menu.

Can we serve alcohol at our event?

Yes, the Museum has a liquor license and is the sole provider of alcohol on the premises.

Can I add tours, glassblowing demos, or other Museum activities to my event?

Of course! The TMA Special Events Office will facilitate arrangements for such activities upon request. You can also arrange for a private viewing of one or more of the galleries during your event.
