Annette’s experiences with museums started in Detroit where she grew up with The Detroit Institute of Arts. Annette went to Wayne State University, which is across Woodward Avenue from the museum, where she frequently visited. Annette came to Toledo in the early 1980’s after finishing college and was employed at St Vincent working in Health Care. Annette was attracted to The Toledo Museum of Art Docent program. In Docent Training, she learned how to ask good questions to visitors. Annette also learned how to listen and get to know the Museum visitors. Learning these skills taught Annette how to communicate better in all areas of her life including my work at St Vincent. Annette believes the Toledo Museum of Art Docent Program contributed much more to her than she did to it. Annette serves as the 2024 Docent President.
