Celebrate Juneteenth at the Toledo Museum of Art with a day of reflection, creativity, and community. Through art making, music, movement, and storytelling, we honor Black history and freedom while looking toward a more connected future.

Juneteenth

Thursday June 19, 2025 | 11:00a.m.–5:00p.m.


Join us in honoring Juneteenth—a celebration of freedom, resilience, and creativity. Throughout the day, the museum will host art-inspired experiences that uplift Black voices and explore the journey from emancipation to expression. Guests can expect a range of activities including live performances, family-friendly art making, guided tours, wellness sessions, and more.

From galleries to gardens, the day will highlight the power of art to connect, heal, and inspire.

All activities are free and open to the public.

Juneteenth: LocalEyes Tour with James "Dirtykics" Dickerson

Back by popular demand! Join us for LocalEyes, a tour that invites Toledoans to share the works of art in TMA’s collection that have inspired them. This unique experience allows artists, professors, musicians and other community members to share the museum’s impact on them with the public.

Juneteenth: Yoga/Sound Bath with Holly and Dani

Come relax and meditate as part of our Juneteenth celebration. Holly Strawbridge and Dani Nolff will guide you through different yoga exercises and meditative moments to relieve stress and help you center yourself for the day.
