Dr. LaToya Williams is a Toledo native. She is a graduate of Midwest University (Doctorate) and The University of Toledo (Bachelor’s & Master’s). She has worked in the education field for more than two decades. Along with teaching, she specializes in curriculum design, leadership, skill development, and career advancement.
LaToya is the founder and CEO of “Pieces of Me” Publication Services, and Star Cosmetics. She’s developed book writing seminars such as “Use Your Senses” and “Think It, Write It, and Publish It”. She is the published author of four books, “POWER”, “Spark Your Life Today”, “Pieces of Me” (Matters of A Poet's Heart) Volumes 1 and 2.
Her single “Black Girl” is on most digital media outlets. LaToya is also known for her motivational minute called “Sixty Second Spark” that she launched on Social Media platforms in January of 2020.
Dr. Williams has written more than 150 personalized poems for weddings, birthdays, retirements, funerals, and other special occasions. She is the 2nd place winner of the 2024 Art Loop Poetry Slam.
When asked why she is such an avid writer, Dr. Williams simply states, “This is how I will be remembered when I die, because I will yet live within the written pages of my journey. A picture may be worth a thousand words, but words from the heart are worth so much more.”
