MLK Day at TMA

Celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at the Toledo Museum of Art. This year’s theme, More than a Dream, invites you to reflect, engage, and create through programs and activities inspired by Dr. King’s vision of hope and action.

  • Poetry and Peace: Spoken Word Workshop – Share your voice and listen to others in a creative space celebrating peace and unity.

  • Dialogue: Art as Activism – Participate in a thought-provoking conversation on how art inspires change.

  • Storytime in the Libraries – Enjoy engaging tales that celebrate Dr. King’s legacy and ideals.

  • Scavenger Hunt – Pick up a printed guide and uncover connections to Dr. King’s message throughout the Museum.

  • National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) Performance – Be captivated by a performance celebrating history, culture, and community.

  • Collaborative Art Project: His Dream – Create your own self-portrait and share your dream, contributing to a community display in the Museum’s Education space.

  • Local Eyes: Guided Tour – Join a Toledo celebrity for a docent-led exploration of art through a fresh perspective.

  • Sensory-Friendly Area – Relax and recharge in a welcoming, low-sensory environment.
