July is Disability Pride month -- celebrating the passing of The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) on July 26, 1990! On Saturday, July 12th, SALUTE (Self-Advocates LUcas TolEdo), in collaboration with The Toledo Museum of Art, as well as the Lucas County Board of Developmental Disabilities and the University of Toledo Disability Studies Program, present Stories of Disability Pride! Come listen to true stories from self-advocates with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The event will be taking place in the Toledo Museum of Art's Great Gallery from 3-5pm and will also highlight works by local artists with disabilities and feature a dance performance by Dance, Move, and Groove. This event is free and open to the public and a reception will follow.
