Join us in the Family Center for a special storytime with Ruth Carter Whittle, who will read the powerful children’s book The School Is Not White. Inspired by her own childhood, the book follows her family’s experience as the first Black family to attend an all‑white school in Mississippi — told in a way that is accessible, heartfelt, and inspiring for young readers.
This program is designed especially for children in grades K–6, but visitors of all ages are welcome to attend and participate.
The Family Center is free, but registration is preferred due to limited space. Guests who register will receive priority if capacity becomes an issue; walk‑ins are welcome as space allows.
