Digital Artists in Residence

Overview

As the culminating exhibition of the Toledo Museum of Art’s 2025 Digital Artists in Residence, Dan Hernandez and Emily Xie will transform Gallery 5 into an interactive environment.

Visitors must purchase a ticket to Infinite Images: The Art of Algorithms to experience this residency.

Emily Xie, a generative artist based in New York, creates algorithmic systems inspired by textiles, ornament, and the logic of craft. At TMA, she extends her practice into interactive software and material form.

Dan Hernandez, a Toledo-based artist, constructs hybrid visual worlds drawing from religious art, myth, and retro game aesthetics. His residency focuses on digitally enabled storytelling and a reinterpretation of museum artifacts.

This exhibition is presented by the Toledo Museum of Art and TMA Labs. The exhibition design and visual identity for the 2025 Digital Artists in Residence are led by Richard The and Studio TheGreenEyl.
