Purchasing a Toledo Museum of Art Membership
Can I purchase a membership as a gift?
Gift memberships can be purchased both online and at the Museum’s Visitor Experience Desks. When purchasing online, be sure to include the name of the person who is receiving the gift and their information.
Can I designate a second membership cardholder?
All memberships, with exception of Senior and Individual, allow for two named adults on the account. When purchasing or renewing your membership, you will have the option to add a secondary name to your account.
How can I update my mailing address or contact information?
Log on to your TMA membership account to update address and contact information, or email membership@toledomuseum.org.
How long does it take receive my membership card?
Members typically receive membership cards in the mail within a few weeks of purchase, and also have the option to use a digital membership card. While we strive to process and send membership out within a couple days, outlying situations may delay the receipt of membership cards. However, your member benefits start immediately, and your account can be looked up at all Museum points of service.
Is my membership tax-deductible?
Yes, your membership is 100% tax deductible.
When will my membership expire?
Your membership will expire one year from the last day of the month you purchased. For example, memberships purchased on any day in July 2024 would have an expiration date of July 31, 2025.
If I purchased regular priced exhibition/event/parking tickets, can I apply its value towards the cost of a membership?
If you decide to purchase on the day of your visit, please stop by the Visitor Experience desks and show your receipt for the purchase of exhibition tickets and/or parking. This amount will be credited towards your membership purchase. Note that discounts are not available on previous purchases.
Renewing Your Toledo Museum of Art Membership
How do I renew my membership?
You can easily renew or upgrade your membership at one of our Visitor Experience desks, logging into your account online, or by calling 419-255-8000 ext. 7432. Renewal notices are also mailed out one month before your membership expires, and you can easily mail in your payment via the provided envelope.
What is the Automatic Renewal Program?
By enrolling in automatic renewal, you can enjoy recurring membership benefits without reminders to renew annually. TMA will continue your membership if you wish without interruption unless you tell us otherwise. Approximately thirty days prior to your expiration date, we will simply charge your credit card at the dues rate then in effect. Should terms or rates change, we will notify you in advance. If we cannot charge your credit card, we will send you a bill for your dues.
Will I lose time on my membership if I renew early?
No, you are guaranteed a full year for your renewal. One full year will be added to your current expiration date.
I have lost or misplaced my membership card. Can I receive a replacement?
Yes, please contact membership@toledomuseum.org to request a replacement card. Also, remember that should you forget your membership card, you can stop by any Visitor Experience desk and an associate will be happy to verify your membership status.

How many guests does my membership allow me to bring to special events?
The number of guests you can bring into the Museum and for special events varies by membership level. Please visit the Visitor Experience desk to learn more, or email membership@toledomuseum.org with any questions.
What membership events require RSVPs?
While not all membership events require reservations, some do. Please check the full event description to find out if reservations are required. Events requiring RSVPs include, but are not limited to, lectures, tours, films, receptions, and invitation-only events.
Do members need tickets for special exhibitions?
Members do need tickets for special exhibitions and are available at special pricing. To reserve your tickets, please visit the Museum’s Visitor Experience desks or go to tickets.toledomuseum.org.

Do I receive reciprocal benefits at other museums?
Depending on your level of membership at Toledo Museum of Art, you may qualify for free general admission or free admission to special exhibitions at our reciprocal partner institutions. Benefits vary from museum to museum. Please contact the institution you plan to visit for more information prior to attending for details on specific reciprocal benefits.

This is one of the largest reciprocal membership programs in the world with members in the United States, Bermuda, Canada, El Savador and Mexico. NARM has 985 arts, cultural, and historical institutions along with botanical gardens, children’s museums, science and technology centers and more that offer their individual NARM qualified members reciprocal benefits. At the Toledo Museum of Art, members at the Reciprocal Level ($300) and above will receive reciprocal benefits.

TMA Digital Membership Card
How will I use my digital membership card?
Your digital membership card is unique to your membership and displays your name, membership level, expiration date, and a barcode for us to scan. Simply scan your digital membership card for easy parking access and show it to our staff at the Visitor Engagement Desk, Museum Store, or Museum Cafe to take advantage of your member benefits!
How do I receive my digital membership card?
Digital membership cards will be sent to the primary email address of every active member. You will need to open this email on your mobile device and follow the instructions to download the card. Can't find the email? Just email membership@toledomuseum.org to receive a notification.
How do I add the membership card to my phone?
For iPhone users:
Access the email from your smartphone and click the "Download" button, then click "Add to Wallet" and "Add." The card will automatically go to your iPhone’s Apple Wallet. It can be accessed in Wallet at any time.
For Android users:
Android users need to download Wallet Passes from Google Play. After you have the app, access the email from your smartphone and click “Download” in the membership email, and the card will automatically go to your Wallet Passes app, where it can be accessed at any time.
I downloaded my card, but I can’t find it.
If you have an iPhone, the card will automatically download to Apple Wallet. Check the app for your new card (scroll through any cards that are already there--it may be hiding!). If you have an Android, you’ll need to download Wallet Passes from the Play Store prior to downloading the card.
Will my digital card update when I renew my membership?
Yes! The digital card should automatically update when your membership information changes. For example, your expiration date and membership level will automatically update the next time you renew or upgrade your membership. This means that you only must download the card once! Be sure to have "Automatic Updates" turned on the back of your digital card.
Can I view my membership benefits through my digital membership card?
Yes. Navigate to the back of the card (click the small “I” on the front) and click on the link for membership benefits.
How will my reciprocal benefits work when visiting other museums?
Reciprocal benefits vary by museum membership level. Eligible reciprocal programs are displayed on the front of the card. For additional information, please navigate to the back of the card (click the small “I” on the front” and click the reciprocal benefit link to verify reciprocal program benefits or go visit the "Reciprocal Membership Questions" section of the TMA Membership FAQ page for additional information.
My family member is on this membership account also, how can they receive the card?
Navigate to the back of the card (click the small "i" on the front) and use the “Share Pass” button to send the card to your secondary member.
