The Toledo Museum of Art (TMA) is thrilled to announce its winter art class sessions, offering a wide array of courses designed to inspire creativity in participants of all ages and skill levels. From painting and printmaking to glassblowing and custom sneaker design, TMA’s expert instructors provide opportunities for artistic exploration in a world-class setting.
The winter session is divided into two segments: Session 1 begins Jan. 25 with a registration deadline of Jan. 17, while Session 2 starts March 1 with a registration deadline of Feb. 21. Scholarships are available for both sessions, with application deadlines on Jan. 5 and Feb. 9, respectively.
New classes this winter include exciting opportunities like Lost Wax Casting: Casting Your Own Hand, Coffee Spoon Metalwork, and Sole Expressions: The Art of Custom Sneaker Design. Youth-focused offerings include Nature in Bloom and Crafting Play: Board Game Art, where students can create meaningful works inspired by the museum’s exhibitions and collection.
“Our winter classes are designed to provide something for everyone,” said Lauren Geib, studio programs manager. “Whether you’re exploring the art of blacksmithing, diving into the history of printmaking, or introducing your child to hands-on creative projects, these classes offer an enriching way to connect with art and community.”
Participants of all ages can engage in activities to integrate art into their lives. Select classes, such as Exploring Asian Art and Mindful Art for Mental Wellness, draw inspiration directly from current exhibitions, providing unique learning opportunities that connect with the museum’s larger artistic narrative.
Most classes include all necessary supplies and are offered at a discounted rate for TMA members. To view the full schedule, class descriptions, and registration information, visit toledomuseum.org/learn or call 419-255-8000.
