June 20, 2025

The Toledo Museum of Art (TMA) is proud to announce the schedule of events for its Pride Month celebration. The event, titled “Pride with Purpose,” is set to take place Saturday, June 28, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. inside the Green Building and on the Monroe Street Terrace. The day will be filled with inclusive, joyful experiences for all ages, including hands-on artmaking, mindful movement, conversations with local LGBTQ+ artists, and much more.

Attendees will have the opportunity to celebrate community and identity through Pride with Purpose’s activities. A drag queen will host and engage guests in two rounds of Drag Bingo, the Monroe Street Terrace will transform into a dance floor during the Dance Party and Flag Making Celebration, and guests will have the opportunity to see a rainbow flag – hand dyed and sewn in 2013 by the flag’s original designer, Gilbert Baker – in TMA’s collection and on exhibit from June 25-29, 2025.

The full schedule of events is as follows:

  • Family Center Activities, 11 a.m.-5 p.m., Family Center.

  • Sound Bath with Dani Nolff, 11:15 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Wolfe Gallery.

  • Drag Bingo, 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and 2-3 p.m., Great Gallery.

  • Pride Artist Panel, 1-2:30 p.m., Little Theater.

  • Sensory Friendly Room, 1-4 p.m., Classroom 128.

  • Wicked Movie, 3-5 p.m., Little Theater.

  • Dance Party with Flag Making Celebration, 5-7 p.m., Monroe Street Terrace.

“Pride with Purpose is a family-centered day and a celebration for everyone,” said Toni Gordon, the public programs supervisor at TMA. “Our goal is to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and highlight the work that they do, but don’t feel like you’re missing out because you’re missing an identity. Celebrate all of it and lean into it, even if you’re not a part of the community. Come willing, ready to learn, and ready to have fun.”

This all-ages event is free and open to the public. “Sound Bath with Dani Nolff” requires prior registration, which can be done on the TMA website.
