The museum will be open on Monday, Jan. 20, to honor Rev. King’s life and legacy.

December 23, 2024

On Jan. 20, 2025, the Toledo Museum of Art (TMA) will open its doors to honor the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. with a day of engaging programs and activities. Typically closed on Mondays, TMA invites the community to reflect on Rev. King’s enduring vision of justice and equity while celebrating his profound impact through art and dialogue. This year’s theme, “More than a Dream,” inspires visitors to take part in meaningful experiences that encourage creativity, connection and action.

“Dr. King’s transformative leadership continues to inspire generations,” said Jennifer McCary, chief culture and brand experience officer at the museum. “On MLK Day, we open the museum as a welcoming space for reflection, creativity and connection, inviting our community to engage with his vision in ways that foster understanding and unity."

The museum will be open for this free event from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Visitors can enjoy a range of family-friendly activities and programs throughout the day, including:
